The first poem writes about the spring light on the restaurant, the wicker, and the village song and club dance on the Qingming Festival. First, we observe the local customs, which implies that the author lives in a foreign country. The position of this first poem in the group poem is far less than that of the second poem. However, the author’s leisurely state of mind reflected in this poem lays the emotional tone for the group poem. The scene provided by the second poem is only an external reflection of the author’s state of mind. The second one is about hedgerows, cauliflower, children and yellow butterflies, which uses detailed description to show the poet’s sensitivity to pastoral feelings.
