Oil level is generally divided into three kinds, respectively: the initial letter is S, C, SC merger and other three grades.
Oil is also known as lubricating oil. Any vehicle must have oil, which can also ensure the normal operation of the vehicle. Then what are the levels of oil? Let’s learn more about it.
details
01
start with “S”
“It represents the oil for car engines, and the letters written before and after represent the quality of the oil, the more backward the letters, the better the quality of the oil. In addition, there are SAE15W-40 and SAE5W-40. Numbers also represent the quality of oil. The smaller the number, the better the oil is, and the more resistant it is to low temperature.
02
The beginning of “C”
“C” engine oil is diesel motor oil, categories are CA, CB, CD, CF ー2, CL ー4 and so on. As above, the lower the letter, the better the quality of the oil, and of course, the higher the price.
03
Both “S” and “C” are available
This kind of motor oil is common to gasoline and diesel cars, and its quality is a little worse than the clearly classified one. When choosing this kind of motor oil, you only need to look at its letters and numbers to know whether its quality is good or not.
04
The oil label includes two parts: classification and viscosity specification. Oil labels usually indicate viscosity and quality. The viscosity of lubricating oil is mostly marked with SAE and other grades. W means winter. The smaller the number in front of it, the better the low-temperature fluidity of the oil, and the lower the ambient temperature available for use. The better the protection ability.
05
The designation of the oil after grading indicates its viscosity specification, e.g. 5 W for external low temperature resistance -30 ° C and 20 W for low temperature resistance -15 ° C. The number after W represents the kinematic viscosity of the oil at 100 ℃, and the higher the number, the higher the viscosity.
