Changsha University of Science and Technology is neither 211 nor 985. Changsha University of Science and Technology is an ordinary undergraduate college. It is a multi-disciplinary university focusing on engineering, science, management, and economics. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Transport and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. .

Changsha University of Science and Technology is a provincial key university which is mainly engaged in engineering and the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, philosophy and arts, etc. It is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Transport and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, a university selected for the “Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China” and a “double first-class” university in Hunan Province. The university is also one of the “double first-class” universities in Hunan Province.
