The formation of the Laba Festival is the product of two aspects: the ancient “Laba festival”; the second is the influence of Buddhist culture. This festival is the product of the intersection and integration of ancient Chinese traditional festivals and foreign Buddhist culture.

The popularity of the Laba Festival is inseparable from the promotion of Buddhism. Before becoming a Buddha, Shakyamuni abandoned his throne and became a monk, and after six years of ascetic practice, and even a daily eclipse, his body gradually became extremely thin. Later, he was offered by the shepherdess, sat under the Bodhi tree, and became a Buddha.

Legend has it that the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month is the day when my teacher Sakyamuni Buddha became enlightened, and then it became a grand and solemn anniversary of Buddhism. Later generations will not forget his suffering, and eat porridge on the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month every year to commemorate., the Laba Festival also comes from this.
